Project Work Assignment 2017

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT AND POLICY STUDIES

ME 321: Educational Projects: Strategies, Implementation and Evaluation

  1. Arrange to visit any school or educational institution of your choice. From your academic visit; carry out the analysis of existing education policy and compare with the real education system performance of the visited school or any educational institution.
a)        From your analysis, identify major challenges (gaps) making reference to commitments made by Tanzania Government in its Education and Training Policy of 1995 and/or unfulfilled commitments from recent National Education and Training Policy of 2014 or the past planning documents such as PEDP or SEDP. The identified educational gap should be linked to the National Vision 2025 and global Sustainable Development Goals 2016-2030.

b)         Applying your knowledge of education policy-making and planning; propose a relevant project proposal to solve an identified challenge (gap).

c)      In your project proposal document you are advised to write a well focused project background (project context), statement of the project problem, project goal and objectives, priority needs, situation before and after project completion, special consideration of your project, proposed type of intervention, government follow-up, and the relationship between your project and the ongoing national or foreign based educational programmes.

d)     Use a Results Chain or Logical Framework Matrix to describe relationship between developmental goal, immediate or specific objectives, outputs and activities. That means, the expected results of the project should describe project activities, outputs, outcomes and impact versus objectively verifiable indicators (OVI)/targets, means of verifications (M.V) and assumptions/risks.

N.B: Each section of your project ought to mirror your maturity in preparing project work. Your work should not exceed 20 pages including references (Deadline 6th June, 2017).
